[SPACE 1889] Aids To Exploring The Social Extremes…

A unlicensed downtown bar (or “morgue”)

io9 has a fantastic portfolio of photographs of New York slum-life during the time the Victorian sci-fi RPG is set. The pictures come from the famous How the Other Half Lives: Studies Among the Tenements of New York photojournalism exposé by Jacob Riis (published in 1890).

Elsewhere online, and a bit less depressing and more tongue-in-cheek, we have the Pompous British Name Generator – a perfect tool for creating lists of names for player- and non-player characters from the upper classes (up to a 100 at a time!).

Options are available for male or female names, prefix and suffix, and first names, middle names and surnames.
